"And Rebecca took the costly garments of Esau, her elder son, which were with her in the house, and she dressed Jacob, her younger son"(Genesis 27:15). acrylic on canvas, mixed media

Acrylic on Canvas. In the distance one can see Anatoth, best known as the home town of the prophet Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah). The forested hills to the left lead up to Jerusalem's Har Hazaytim (Mount of Olives) and Mount Scopus.

"Know that each and every shepherd has his own unique tune…" (Song of the Grasses by Naomi Shemer based on Rebbe Nachman)Kids who have the opportunity to grow up in Eretz Yisrael can be both as tough as the basalt stone that they sit on and as sensitive as the biblical shepherds of Israel. While we once hung up our harps as we wept by the rivers of Babylon, you can now see our children singing their own melodies under the willows and eucalyptus trees in Israel. Acrylic on Canvas 50cm by 70 cm

With the hope of bringing the text to life, I used real bulrushes and a basket which is "smeared with clay and pitch." (Shemot -Exodus 2:3 -5) Acrylic 70 by 90 cm

Love the colorful produce and characters that one finds in Jerusalem's shuk Machane Yehuda. Recently I've found myself drawn to the crowded market place and forgoing the spotless, air conditioned modern mega markets that have taken over Israel.
